The Castelmaure plateau is 15 km from Tautavel, on the southern boundary of the old French kingdom, near the Aguilar fortress in the heart of Cathar country, where the grapes are heavily influenced by a complex terroir on the Castelmaure plateau. Fine-grained alluvium brings fruity, complex aromas; hard early Jurassic limestone ensures its strength of character, and black and grey schist add finesse and mineral notes.
TASTING NOTES
Eye: deep rouge.
Nose: defined garrigue aromas.
Palate: open and rounded, with good length and exceptional balance.
